The implant placement procedure typically only requires a local anesthetic—much like getting a filling.
When it’s time for the restorative appointments, numbing is usually not necessary because the work is painless. Dr. Aliisha will use a teeny tiny screwdriver to remove the healing-abutment cover and seat a scan body to complete a digital scan of your mouth. After the scan, the healing abutment is placed back on and you’re free to go home.
Dr. Aliisha designs your custom abutment (the interface between the implant and the crown) and the dental crown itself—most commonly a zirconia crown matched to the shade of your natural teeth. Once the lab in Texas crafts these parts, you’ll come back in for the try-in. No numbing is typically needed for this visit either. We check fit and appearance and make sure you’re pleased with the look and feel of your new tooth. There’s a slight pressure sensation during the final tightening, but patients rarely feel discomfort. Dr. Aliisha then places a covering over the screw channel, and you’re finished.
At every checkup we examine all teeth and implants for health and stability and review how to care for your dental implant so it lasts a long time.

The cost of a dental implant includes several parts. First is the surgical placement of the implant into the jawbone — this may involve bone grafting and, in some cases, additional procedures like a sinus lift. After the implant integrates with the bone (typically about three months), Dr. Aliisha designs a custom abutment and crown to complete the restoration.
Typical total cost
Most cases average around $5,000 in total, with payments commonly spread over 3–7 months.
Out-of-pocket cost varies widely depending on case complexity and dental insurance coverage. Some plans offer implant benefits; others provide little or no coverage.
Insurance and payment options
Patients with dental insurance can pay anywhere from $0 to $5,000 out of pocket — the range is large because plans differ in limitations, annual maximums, and exclusions.
For uninsured patients, our in-house membership plan provides a 25% discount.
We also offer no-interest payment plans to make treatment more manageable.
How we help you plan
We work with your insurance provider to obtain a pre-determination whenever possible so you have a clearer estimate of your share of costs before treatment begins.
Our team will create a treatment plan tailored to your needs and budget, and we’ll outline payment options to make the plan achievable.
